What's New ======================================================================= Patch 3 adds the following enhancements and addresses the following issues: 2.1 Enhancements ==================================================================== The following enhancements are included in this Patch: Enhancement 1: [Critical Patch 2531] Supported Platforms - This critical patch allows users to install the Worry-Free Business Security 7.0 Service Pack 1 Security Agent on computers running on the Microsoft(TM) Windows(TM) 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2 platform. Note: Please refer to Section 7 "Known Issues" for information on several known issues related to this enhancement. Enhancement 2: [Hot Fix 2529] Smart Scan Pattern Updates - This hot fix improves the performance of Worry-Free Business Security 7.0 Service Pack 1 servers by preventing unnecessary Smart Scan Pattern updates. This enhancement can also help reducing network traffic of pattern update. 2.2 Resolved Known Issues ==================================================================== Patch 3 resolves the following issues: Issue 1: When users open the "Web Install" page of Worry-Free Business Security to install the Security Agent, there are no "Windows 8" or "Windows Server 2012" options, which should be available in the "Agent Installation Requirements" section on the Web page. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 1: [Hot Fix 2508] This hot fix ensures that the "Web Install" page shows correct information of supported Windows operating systems, which include Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. Issue 2: When users launch the Client Packager for creating setup packages for the Security Agent, there is no "Windows 8" or "Windows Server 2012" item in the "Windows operating system type" option. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 2: [Hot Fix 2509] This hot fix ensures that the Client Packager shows correct information for supported Windows operating systems, which includes Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. Issue 3: Some errors that occur after a client update can prevent the URL filtering feature and Web Reputation Services (WRS) of Worry-Free Business Security 7.0 Service Pack 1 from retrieving the list of blocked URLs for the client. When this happens, the URL filtering feature will not be able to block users from accessing blocked websites. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 3: [Hot Fix 2514] This hot fix resolves the errors to ensure that the URL filtering feature and WRS can successfully retrieve the list of blocked URLs. This further ensures that the URL filtering feature works properly on newly-updated clients. Issue 4: A newly-installed Security Agent displays the Wi-Fi Advisor notification when the computer connects to a Wi-Fi network. This situation occurs even after the administrator disables the Wi-Fi Advisor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 4: [Hot Fix 2538] This hot fix ensures that newly-installed Security Agents sync up correctly with Wi-Fi Advisor setting of the Security Server. 3. Issue 2: The computer may stop responding or stop unexpectedly while updating the Security Agent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 2: [Hot Fix 2374] The Security Agent can now be updated without issues. Issue 3: In Smart Scan mode, the Trend Micro Vulnerability Scanner cannot detect and show the version number of the virus pattern file. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 3: [Hot Fix 2376] The Trend Micro Vulnerability Scanner can now detect and show the correct version number of the virus pattern file. Issue 4: The "Enter a Valid Activation Code" message appears when users attempt to activate Worry-Free Business Security through the "Product License" screen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 4: [Hot Fix 2379] Users are now required to enter a valid license code to activate Worry-Free Business Security only from the "Product License" screen. Issue 5: Smart Scan Pattern updates may fail after upgrading Worry-Free Business Security from version 7.0 to version 7.0 Service Pack 1 small package build 2380. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 5: [Hot Fix 2381] The Security Server can now successfully update the Smart Scan Pattern. Issue 6: A file lock conflict issue prevents scheduled scan from completing scans on compressed files. This file lock conflict issue occurs when scheduled scan attempts to use the same thread as the "plugCommonScanCache" function before the function has changed the thread priority from "very low" to "normal". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 6: [Hot Fix 2382] The "plugCommonScanCache" function now promptly sets the thread priority from "very low" to "normal" after building the common cache. This prevents the file lock conflict issue. Issue 7: The "Security Settings" option "Use Trend Micro ActiveUpdate as a secondary update source" remains enabled even after users have unselected this option in the "Client Privileges" page. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 7: [Hot Fix 2385] Users can successfully disable the "Security Settings" option "Use Trend Micro ActiveUpdate as a secondary update source" from the "Client Privileges" page. Issue 8: Security Server reports in PDF format generated through Internet Explorer 9 do not contain any information. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 8: [Hot Fix 2386] Users can now successfully generate Security Server reports in PDF format in Internet Explorer 9 with complete and accurate information. Issue 9: Enabling the Security Agent's Smart Scan function may trigger a memory leak issue in "lsass.exe". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 9: [Hot Fix 2400] The memory leak issue has been resolved. Issue 10: Users do not receive any email notifications because of an issue that prevents the Security Server from correctly handling certain Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDNs) while sending out email notifications. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 10: [Hot Fix 2405] The FQDN handling issue has been resolved to ensure that the Security Server can successfully send out email notifications. Issue 11: Worry-Free Business Security 7.0 Service Pack 1 recognizes Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 as Windows Home Server 2011 Service Pack 1. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 11: [Hot Fix 2422] The Worry-Free Business Security ActiveX control component has been updated to ensure that Worry-Free Business Security 7.0 Service Pack 1 can correctly recognize Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1. Issue 12: Clicking the external URL link for the "Support" page in the Security Server web console of Worry-Free Business Security opens a different Web page. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 12: [Hot Fix 2425] The external URL link for the "Support" page in the Security Server web console of Worry-Free Business Security now leads to the correct web page. Issue 13: A program's full path might disappear from the "Trusted Program List" after the same full path is added to the approved list under the Behavior Monitoring settings. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 13: [Hot Fix 2430] Users can now add a program's full path to both lists without issues. Issue 14: After updating the new Damage Cleanup Template (DCT) pattern, the Security Agent might stop unexpectedly during scans on computers running on any 64-bit platform. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 14: [Critical Patch 2431] The Security Agent can now successfully run scans on computers running on any 64-bit platform after updating the new DCT pattern. Issue 15: Users can configure the proxy server address in the Internet Explorer settings. However, when users set a proxy server address for the Secure protocols only and not for the HTTP protocol, Worry-Free Business Security assigns the Secure proxy settings to the HTTP protocol. This may prevent the Trend Micro Web Reputation service from working. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 15: [Hot Fix 2432] Worry-Free Business Security now follows the correct proxy settings for each protocol. 8.2 Patch 2 ==================================================================== 8.2.1 Enhancements ==================================================================== The following enhancements are included in Patch 2: Enhancement 1: [Critical Patch 2477] Supported Platforms - Users can now install the Worry-Free Business Security 7.0 Service Pack 1 Security Agent on computers running on the Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 platform. Issue 2: The Worry-Free Business Security Server does not generate and send out a notification email message when the Smart Scan Service is unavailable even while the "Preferences > Notifications > System Events > Smart Scan - Smart Scan Service is not available." option is enabled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 2: [Hot Fix 2451] The Worry-Free Business Security Server now generates and sends out notification email messages for all system events specified under "Preferences > Notifications > System Events" Issue 3: The Worry-Free Business Security Server might encounter an error while updating the Smart Scan Pattern. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 3: [Hot Fix 2457] The Security Server can now update the Smart Scan Pattern without issues. Issue 4: Users may encounter an "HTTP Error 500 (The page cannot be displayed)" error while attempting to access the "Update" or "Others" page of the Security Server console after enabling the Windows User Access Control (UAC) feature. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 4: [Hot Fix 2462 and 2465] An Application Manifest has been added to enable the Windows UAC feature to detect files with filenames that contain keywords such as "install", "setup", or "update". Refer to the following web site for more information: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/ desktop/bb756960.aspx Issue 5: According to Microsoft Online Crash Analysis, a a "STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN" issue causes TMUFE to stop unexpectedly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 5: [Critical Patch 2467] The "STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN" issue has been resolved to prevent it from triggering TMUFE to stop unexpectedly. Issue 6: The password for the proxy server is displayed in plain code format in the TMFBE debug log. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 6: [Critical Patch 2467] The proxy server password no longer appears in the TMFBE debug log. Issue 7: The "VSEncode.exe" tool that restores quarantined files back to the original state, does not work on files with filenames that contain a question mark "?" character. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 7: [Hot Fix 2468] The "VSEncode.exe" tool can now successfully restore files with filenames that contain a question mark "?". Issue 8: Users encounter an "Error while setting entries into ACL. Windows error code = 1332" error message while running "AMSP_logserver.exe" on a German version of the Windows operating system. This issue occurs because a string used to launch a required Windows API is not localized. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 8: [Hot Fix 2475] The string has been correctly localized to prevent the error message while "AMSP_logserver.exe" runs. Issue 9: When the "Use Internet Explorer settings" option in the "Security Agent > Settings > System" page is enabled, the Security Agent uses the automatic configuration script (*.pac) setting for Microsoft Internet Explorer(TM) configured in "Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings". Under this scenario, Worry-Free Business Security may stop unexpectedly while updating the Security Agent on x64 platforms. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 9: [Hot Fix 2480] Worry-Free Business Security can now successfully update the Security Agent under the scenario described above. Issue 10: An exception in "cgishare.dll" triggers the generation of a 2216 event with the following description in the Windows Application Event log after the computer restarts. "The script started from the URL '/officescan/cgi/cgiRecvFile.exe' has not responded within the configured timeout period. The HTTP server is terminating the script." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 10: [Hot Fix 2481] The exception in "cgishare.dll" has been resolved to prevent the 2216 event described above. Refer to the following web site for more information: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/ desktop/bb756960.aspx Issue 11: The information in the "Hot Fix History" field of the "About" tab of the Worry-Free Business Security web console is not localized. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 11: [Hot Fix 2484] The information in the "Hot Fix History" field of the "About" tab is now correctly localized. Issue 12: Client Packager stops unexpectedly while compressing setup or update files in command mode. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 12: [Hot Fix 2485] The Client Packager can now successfully compress setup and update files in command mode. Issue 13: An authentication issue prevents the Security Server from connecting to the SMTP server to send out email notifications. As a result, the Security Server cannot send out email notifications. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 13: [Hot Fix 2486] The authentication issue has been resolved to ensure that the Security Server can successfully connect to the SMTP server and send out email notifications. Issue 14: The "Smart Scan Service is not available now" message appears on the Worry-Free Remote Manager dashboard even when the Smart Scan Service is available and there is no such notification on the Worry-Free Business Security server. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 14: [Hot Fix 2488] The Worry-Free Business Security server now sends the status of the Smart Scan Service in the correct format to the Worry-Free Remote Manager. This prevents false alarms about the Smart Scan Service from appearing on the Worry-Free Remote Manager dashboard. Issue 15: A vulnerability issue in a Worry-Free Business Security kernel driver may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary commands within the kernel. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 15: [Hot Fix 2492] More error-handling mechanisms have been added to remove the vulnerability. Issue 16: An interoperability issue between the Citrix driver "IVM.SYS" which is commonly used in Citrix(R) XenDesktop(TM) and the TMCOMM driver can trigger blue screen of death (BSoD) in an NTFS environment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 16: [Hot Fix 2495] The interoperability issue between the two drivers has been resolved to prevent BSoD in an NTFS environment. Issue 17: After users apply Worry-Free Business Security 7.0 Service Pack 1 Critical Patch 2477 for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 Compatibility, the Windows Backup function may not work properly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 17: [Hot Fix 2496] Changes have been made to the Worry-Free Business Security 7.0 Service Pack 1 configuration to ensure that the Windows Backup function works normally. Issue 18: Users may not be able to import previously exported settings back because the format of exported settings is different from the format of imported settings. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 18: [Hot Fix 2498] Settings are now exported and imported in the same format to ensure that users can successfully import previously exported settings. 9.
