This tool is for your INTERNAL use only. This tool is NOT allowed to be copied or passed to other people. -Support Versions ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ * CUT_forA1 -Support Apex One On-Premise and SAAS * CUT_forNonA1 -Support all OSCE versions before Apex One, like XG, 11, etc * Platform Support -All platforms that OSCE/ApexOne Agent program supported -Normal Mode (CUT.exe) -Silent Mode (CUT_Silent.exe) -Reinstall Mode ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Run CUT.exe/CUT_Silent.exe without any argument. This will remove/clean up the existing agent and reinstall a new one using your own package. After downloading this tool package, prepare to run the tool (CUT.exe or CUT_Silent.exe) by manually adding the latest OfficeScan/Apex One agent setup packages into the tool package: 1> Create the latest OfficeScan/Apex One agent setup packages in EXE format on the OfficeScan/Apex One server by using the Client Packager Tool (ClnPack). 2> When running the Client Packager: - Do NOT select "Silent Mode" if you run CUT.exe. - Select "Silent Mode" if you run CUT_Silent.exe. 3> Disable PreScan. It might take a long time if enabling PreScan. 4> Create two (2) setup packages: 32-bit and 64-bit, for both x86 and x64 platforms. - Name the 32-bit setup package "osce_client_x32.exe". - Name the 64-bit setup package "osce_client_x64.exe". 5> Put the setup packages in the "CUT_for**" folder, on the same level as CUT.exe. 6> Copy the whole "CUT_for**" folder to the problem client machine to execute it. -How to Use CUT Tool to Reinstall Agent Using MSI package ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1> Copy the following four (4) files from "For_Reinstall_Using_MSI" folder and put them in the "CUT_for**" folder: - osce_client_x32.exe - osce_client_x64.exe - osce_client_x32.exe.config - osce_client_x64.exe.config 2> Put the customer's OfficeScan or Apex One Agent MSI Setup Package in the "CUT_for**" folder as well. 3> Rename the .MSI file as osce_agent_XX.msi (just the letters "xx", case insensitive). 4> Run CUT.exe or CUT_Silent.exe to reinstall the OfficeScan/Apex One agent. -Uninstall Only Mode ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Run CUT.exe/CUT_Silent.exe with argument "-noinstall". This will remove/clean up the existing agent installation. If any component remains after the first attempt, reboot the PC and run the CUT Tool again to clean it. CUT -noinstall CUT_Silent -noinstall -Prerequisite ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This tool requires Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 OR any above version installed. e.g. System with .NET framework 3.5 installed: The tool can run. System with .NET framework 4.* installed: The tool can run. -Situations Where the Customer May Need to Use CUT Tool ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - The OfficeScan/Apex One agent got corrupted and cannot be removed completely through the normal way. - The customer forgot the uninstall password for the OfficeScan/Apex One agent. - The agent lost the managing server and cannot be removed without a password. - The customer wants to remove the old agent version and install the new agent version using a Command Line Tool. - The agent cannot upgrade and the customer wants to replace it with a new version using a Command Line Tool.
