Software Updates
Deep Security Software Updates are managed and distributed by the Deep Security Manager. The Manager periodically connects to Trend Micro Update Servers to check for available Software Updates. If it determines that updates are available, it will raise an Alert to that effect. You will use the Deep Security Manager to download and distribute Software Updates:
When you receive an Alert that new software is available, you have to import the software into the Deep Security Manager.
To import software into the Deep Security Manager:
- Go to Administration > Updates > Software.
- Check the Trend Micro Download Center section of the page to see whether there are any new software updates available. If no new updates are available, the section will say "All imported software is up to date". If updates are available, select the packages that you want and then click Import. You can select multiple packages by pressing Shift or Ctrl when clicking.
- When a green checkmark appears in the Imported column, the package has been downloaded into Deep Security Manager. The package will also appear on Administration > Updates > Local.
- After a period of time, the Relays will replicate the packages.
Once the software is imported into the Deep Security Manager, you can upgrade the Deep Security Agents, Appliances, and Relays:
- To upgrade only certain Agents, right-click the Agents on the Computers page and select Actions > Upgrade Agent/Appliance/Relay software.
- To upgrade all Agents at once, go to Administration > Updates > Software and then click Upgrade Agent/Appliance Software.
Vulnerability Protection Software Updates are managed and distributed by the Vulnerability Protection Manager.
To manually import updated Agents to the Vulnerability Protection Manager:
- Download the Agent software from the Trend Micro Download Center web site (http://downloadcenter.trendmicro.com/) to a local directory.
- In the Vulnerability Protection Manager, go to Administration > Updates > Software > Local and click Import in the toolbar to display the Import Software wizard.
- Use the Browse option to navigate to and select your downloaded software.
- Click Next and then Finish to exit the wizard. The software is now imported into the Vulnerability Protection Manager.
Once the software is imported into the Vulnerability Protection Manager, you can upgrade the Vulnerability Protection Agents by right-clicking on them in the Computers page and selecting Actions > Upgrade Agent software.
