1. About ScanMail
========================================================================
ScanMail for Lotus Notes provides data security for your Lotus Notes
environment. ScanMail checks email traffic, database replications,
and client file activity for viruses, malicious scripts and other data
threats particular to the Notes environment.

ScanMail can be managed through the Notes client, Web browser, or Trend
Micro Control Manager (TMCM), version 2.5 and later.

 1.1 Overview of This Patch
 ======================================================================
 This Patch contains enhancements and bug fixes introduced since the 
 release of ScanMail for Lotus Notes for Windows 2.6 Service Pack 1 
 (build 1500).
        

 1.2 Who Should Install This Release
 =====================================================================
 Install this patch if you are currently using ScanMail for Lotus Notes
 for Windows 2.6 Service Pack 1,  (SMLN2.6 SP1 Build 1500).
 

2. What's New
========================================================================

   2.1 Resolved Known Issues (from Previous Versions)
   =====================================================================

   o Fixed a number of periodic issues with Tmmscan stability, including
	- Blocking mime type attachments by name
	- Problem with too many entries in the Send To field
	- Scanning email containing the JP-ISO charset
	- Sending notification if Administrator group is using an 
          unsupported charset
   o Added support for calculating and displaying blocked email totals 
     in the Virus Log Statistics page
   o Fixed an issue with virus statistic calculations
   o Fixed an issue with pattern file and scan engine updates
   o Added support for the Control Manager agent to work with Microsoft 
     Clusters
   o Fixed an issue with the Control Manager agent which could 
     cause the Domino Server to hang
   o Added support for the Control Manager agent to restore Update 
     Configuration Settings

 No changes to the system requirements


5. Installation
========================================================================
 Install this patch by downloading and then decompressing the patch files 
 to a temporary directory (one for the ScanMail files, and one for the 
 Control Manager agent files).


 5.1 Installing the ScanMail for Lotus Notes patch
 ====================================================================
 To install the ScanMail for Louts Notes patch files:
 
  1. On the ScanMail machine, stop the Domino server.
  2. Rename or otherwise back up the ScanMail program files, listed
     in section 7.1 under "Domino-Program-Dir", from within the Domino
     Program directory
  3. Rename or otherwise back up the AU files, listed 
     in section 7.1 under "SMLN-Dir/AU", from within the Activeupdate
     directory "SMLN/AU" found under the Domino data.
  4. Rename or otherwise back up the Domino-Data files, listed 
     in section 7.1 under "Domino-Data-Dir", from within the Domino
     Data directory. 
  5. Copy the patch program files listed under "Domino-Program-Dir" 
     from the temporary directory to the Domino program directory.
  6. Copy the ActiveuDate patch files listed under "SMLN_Dir/AU" from 
     the temporary directory to the SMLN/AU directory.
  7. Copy the three NTF- and one NSF-File listed under the 
     "Domino-Data-Dir" from the temporary directory to the Domino 
     Data directory.   
  8. Restart the Domino server.
	

 5.2 Installing the Control Manager agent patch
 ======================================================================
 This section only applies if you are running ScanMail for Lotus Notes
 in a Control Manager domain (and have installed the ScanMail agent).

  Notes: 
  o The Domino server must be running to install the agent (it must
    be stopped to install ScanMail 2.6).
 	 
  o For Domino partitioned servers, install a separate instance of 
    the agent on each partition.
	 
 To install the Control Manager agent:
	
 1. Run the Control Manager Agent setup program. Click "Next" in the 
    Welcome screen that appears and accept the License Agreement.
	   
 2. During the Installation is no action required.

 3. When prompted with the following question, 
	   
    "You have already installed Control Manager agent for SMLN. 
     Would you like to reconfigure it?"
	   
     select "No" and then click "Finish". 


 
6. Post-Installation Configuration
========================================================================

After updating ScanMail 2.6 for Windows Service Pack 1 with the Patch 2 files, 

 1. Sign the templates "smconf.ntf","smency.ntf", "smvlog.ntf" and 
    the database "smmsg.nsf" using the appropriate Notes ID.
 2. Replace the design for the "smconf.nsf","smency.nsf" and "smvlog.nsf"
    with the newly signed templates "smconf.ntf","smency.ntf"
    and "smvlog.ntf".

 Note: Trend Micro recommends that you update your scan engine and 
 virus pattern files immediately after installing the product.
