1. About ScanMail
========================================================================
ScanMail for Lotus Notes provides data security for your Lotus Notes
environment. ScanMail checks email traffic, database replications,
and client file activity for viruses, malicious scripts and other data
threats particular to the Notes environment.

ScanMail can be managed through the Notes client, Web browser, or Trend
Micro Control Manager (TMCM), version 2.5 and later.

 1.1 Overview of This Patch
 =====================================================================
 This Patch contains enhancements and bug fixes introduced since the 
 release of ScanMail for Lotus Notes 2.6 Service Pack 1 (build 1500).

    o Fixed an issue with INotes wherein certain saved documents were 
      not scanned
    o Fixed a compatibility issue that prevented mail routing when 
      another 3rd-party extension manager was installed. 
    o Fixed problem with eManager that could cause unexpected program
      stops
    o Fixed an issue with content filter rules after a new database has 
      been created from a template
    o Fixed an problem with decrypted emails sometimes causing the server to 
      stop unexpectedly
    o Provided more robust support for filtering documents that contain
      double-byte characters.

 Pack 1 for Lotus Notes Windows. (SMLN2.6 SP1)

4. System Requirements
========================================================================
 
 System requirements are unchanged, and are available in the ScanMail
 readme.txt file accompanying the product.


5. Installation
========================================================================
Install this patch by decompressing the patch files to the ScanMail 
directory (you will need to stop and restart the Domino server). Step
by step instructions follow:

To install SP1 patch1:

 1. Stop the Domino server.
 2. Rename or otherwise backup the ScanMail files listed in section 1.3 
    in the Domino program directory
 3. Decompress and copy the patch files to the Domino Program directory.
 4. Restart the Domino server.

 
6. Post-Installation Configuration
========================================================================
After updating ScanMail with the Patch 1 files, 

 1. Copy the files SMCONF.ntf and SMENCY.ntf to the Domino data directory on 
    the ScanMail server.
 2. Sign both of template files with the relevant Notes ID.
 3. Replace the design for the SMconf.nsf with the newly signed 
    SMconf.ntf template.
 4. Replace the  for the SMency.nsf with the newly signed 
    SMency.ntf template.

    Note: Trend Micro recommends that you update your scan engine and 
    virus pattern files immediately after installing the product.
